I felt that I should probably update everyone on how well Kodo (now redubbed
Rocky bobble) is doing...
His white count finally reached normal levels after a full course of
chloramphenicol - his red counts and PCV are still a bit low and we are continuing pet
tinic.
The neurological signs are still there - the head tremor and some
difficulties in balancing..but he does play. His feet are strong and while he still may
wobble a bit (it is especially bad when he first wakes up)all other signs have
disappeared, including the abnormal kidney. His chemistry values have always
been within normal ranges...his weight has doubled as of last week from 340g to
680g - we estimate that he is now about 11 weeks old.
I'm not sure if he could have had the 'mystery disease' as some are calling
it, but he certainly fits with the same types of symptoms as being described. I
know that some of you are aware of who my vet is and you are welcome to call
and get his CBC/chemistry results as well as the vets opinions on his
prognosis.
We believe that he will make as full a recovery as hoped for - with the
exception of the neurological signs.
