Subject: what causes adrenal disease?

I have had two ferrets euthanized due to adrenal disease and I have one right
now that is exibiting signs of what I think may be adrenal disease. He has
coarse fur, starting to thin around the neck area, and he seems very agitated. I
don't want this to happen to the rest of my babies, although I know it can be
inevitable in some cases. Is there anyway to prevent it or do you know what
causes it? I have heard improper lighting conditions could be to blame, if so,
what are proper lighting conditions?
