Hello everyone. i have a ferret named Gus. when he was given to me he had a horrible case of ear mites, and i brought him to get it fixed. they gave him 4 shots, once a week. they told me that the mites were gone. i noticed though that his ears kept getting dirty. not just a little. his ears were getting filled with wax. the vet said to just keep cleaning his ears when they needed it and eventually it would dissapate. it's been 1 month now, and i clean his ears still 1x ever 2 or 3 days. im still scooping wax out. his ears are orange almost always until i clean them. he's constantly scratching at them. i don't know what this could be. could it be that the infection was so bad that it's going to take a long time for his ears to stop producing so much wax? i am at a loss. i would appreciate any input.
