I had to give up on the 14 hours of darkness - never got to enjoy them, and=
they were not happy either. ALso, after a year, their problems were progre=
ssing. I couldn't be home to give them the oral melatonin on time, and givi=
ng it later, even at the same time, didn't work for me either. So I opted f=
or the male mink melatonin implants. We implanted them in my four fuzzies o=
n December 19th, and in two weeks we had fur regrowth! One ferret has lymph=
oma and adrenal, so could not have surgery, one had bilateral tumors, and t=
he right adrenal could not be removed, even with ligation of the vena cava =
.... they were on Propecia and lupron, and still had no fur regrowth till t=
he melatonin was added. The other two looked early adrenal - rat tails and =
thinning hair on the back and neck, starting to have a bit of odor ... now =
they all look good and their energy level is waaaay up - and no odor .... t=
he vet is following them closely, but so far they are all doing great. I'll=
post as things progress.
