Disseminated intravascular coagulation is when the blood basically
"gels" all over the body at once, usually after major surgeries I
think. I really don't know much more than that except that it's
(perhaps obviously) fatal. One of the vets would be much better
qualified to answer whether it sounds like that happened to Brandy or
not.

Vets will do necropsies if you ask for them, but most shouldn't do it
automatically. It does take time and it's an additional charge to
you, so they can't just assume it, even if you give permission. If
you've said "please do it", then he should have done a necro, yes.

Since ADV is already in the active research stage and if a test lab was wil=
ling to put time and resources into ferret work; what research would be you=
r next choice ? =

Does anyone have any information on current studies that are being done for=
ferrets - the progress, and by whom/where. I would like to compile a list=
for the ferret community to be aware of.

Thanks
