My 4 1/2 y/o ferret has had a growth on the side of her neck for about a
month now. It's about the size of a green pea and tonight I found a lump
directly beneath it (below the surface of the skin) that feels thicker and
slightly larger in diameter. The growth is dark pink to light red. It looks
inflamed and has a black and crusty scab on the side. Two weeks ago it was
smaller and not as round and there were traces of fresh blood at times. I
haven't seen any blood for several days now. It doesn't appear to itch or
bother her. At first I thought it was a mast cell tumor and wasn't all that
concerned but now I don't know what to think. What does it sound like it is
and what should I do? Leave it alone? Have it aspirated and tested? Have it
removed and tested? What?
