We have heard from a few members.
Yes, we know that the problems which Smartgroups is scrambling to
correct are now greater than just the message difficulties.
This sort of thing happens at times, sometimes during times when
internet traffic worsens greatly due to circulating viruses and worms,
so it can only help if members not open unexpected attachments (no
matter who they claim to be from because the viruses and worms often
fake their origin), run firewalls, use antivirus software at least few
times a week, and as often check for and use corrected software and
patches for the browser, e-mail client, and operating program. The
most commonly used of such programs are the ones most often abused for
identity theft, virus and worm attacks, etc., and many patches do not
work for software which has not been updated.
Meanwhile, also realize that at times when Smartgroups has serious
problems it may disappear for a while. If this happens realize that it
is only so that repairs can be made; Smartgroups has a history of being
very responsive about doing repairs and we can all be grateful for
that.
IMPORTANT: Often when there are other problems we moderators lose the
ability to edit. This means that if you violate a rule you risk a
rejection because we may be unable to correct your error. Here is
where you can learn the rules:
