it is a birth defect just like a humans. i have a friend thats son had this
and had to have massive surgery for it and now he is 14 and has to wear a
colostomy bag since he does not have feeling down there.

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago I posted about taking Buster for his first vet
appointment since he has been in my care and about making an emergency kit
just in case. I got a lot of replies and wanted to thank everyone and I was
asked to let everyone know how it went, so here goes....Buster is in excellent
health I am thrilled to say. I am very happy with our new vet. He is very
ferret knowledgeable and he use to breed them too so he knows what is up. He also
does continuing education which I was thrilled about. When I first came in he
did his "Ferret Speech" which included facts about diseases and talking to me
about setting up an emergency ferret fund now so I am ready in the future for
the bigger ferret emergencies that can occur as they get older. I was very
impressed. I also explained that I was concerned about the emergency clinic
out here not dealing with many ferrets and he gave me his cell number for those
emergencies. God has really blessed me and the fuzzies. I feel so much more
at ease. Buster did great with his rabies vaccine, his fecal was negative,
and he weighs 3 Lb 12 oz. The doc was surprised at the weight since Buster is a
Marshall. He said he looks great and I am doing a great job, thrilling words
for a new fuzzy mom! I scheduled S'mores last distemper shot and a check up
also and I will let ya'll know how it goes. Thanks again for everyone's input
since you all are where I have gotten a lot of informative information from.
