Stress can cause problems, though this sounds like it might be a little more than stress.

Hopefully, Pollux hasn't been exposed to ECE. This is a viral intestinal disease that is often carried by baby ferrets. It takes around 48-72 hours after a ferret is exposed to the virus to begin showing symptoms. Ferrets may vomit the first day, but the primary symptom is severe diarrhea, sometimes bright green in color. ECE is very survivable but it does require intense supportive care in the beginning.
