You can get him through this. Initially he may need sub Q fluids
daily, get him on a bland diet. The Gerber meat baby foods are good,
lamb, veal or chicken. Warm it and hand feedings three times daily.
Science A/D is also good.

Carafate 10 minutes before the meals to help with any gastritis.

My sickest boy then only wanted the cat food for a few weeks
until he went back to the ferret food. The cat food was Eukanuba with
Felidae. So, he may be picky initially.

Prednisone can be used in the initial phase to help with the inflammatory
process.

Just supportive care.

There are some great articles on it, and Dr. WIlliams site has a lot
of info on ECE as well as something about how to feed a sick ferret
