In case I haven't updated on the situation, the vet did agree to order the
Lupron shot for us without much of a markup (she is a great vet and an
all-around wonderful person!) and Gabrielle got her shot a week ago. We
are also supplementing her diet with Pet Tinic, and she seems to be doing
better -- at least she's not doing any worse. She has become a bit more
active, and I'm optimistic that we may have caught it in time. We will
recheck her PCV and her WBC in a little while and see if there has been
progress. Right now she is holding her own! And thanks so much for all
those who offered suggestions. I will be getting Lupron from now on from
University Small Animal Clinic in Topeka, KS. They're much cheaper. (I
hope it's okay to post this -- it is a vet clinic I'm mentioning, but it is
purely for the purpose of mentioning an alternative source of Lupron.)
