Hi,
Stinky, 1.5 year old girl-ferret always have been an accident prone and ver=
y fragile. Sometime ago i noticed that the bones at the beginning of her ta=
il (where tail and rear meets) were kind of like dislocated, it's like they=
were broken, pointing different directions. At the regular check up my vet=
said it's ok, it could of been a birth defect. I just felt like I should m=
ention this to you, because it doesn't seam normal to me.

About a month ago i noticed that she didn't want to come out to play, so i =
examined her and noticed that both of her hind legs look like they were bru=
ised. So, i figured that she had a fight with another ferret or she fell in=
the cage. When i put her down, she couldn't walk well, kind of dragging he=
r body on the floor and helping with her back legs. After a while she got b=
etter, black and blue went away in 2 days or so, and she started walking (l=
imping of course), and so i didn't go to the vet because she was progressin=
g and feeling better (throughout she was eating, drinking, pooping, sleepin=
g normal). It took her about a month to get almost 100% back to normal, som=
etimes she had a little weakness in her hind legs, but mostly she was ok, r=
unning and playing. 3 days ago i noticed that she didn't want to come out o=
ut of her cage, so i examined her again and it seamed that she had a stiff =
neck, where she keeps tilting her head to one side and she won't tilt it to=
the other side or straighten it. She even walked, stumbling and falling ki=
nd of lopsided. Her back legs seamed very weak again. And, she looked kind =
of very wired and uncomfortable, like she had a muscle spasm and couldn't s=
traighten her head to look forward. it's been two days, her neck is still v=
ery stiff, if i move her neck with my hand it turns, but very stiffly. Also=
, if i lay Stinky on to her back, her muscles everywhere are very tense, sh=
e extends her hind legs forward like she's made of wood and she doesn't rel=
ax her muscles until i rub her feet a little. It's very strange. She's eati=
ng, drinking, pooping, sleeping normal, but when she's walking she seams we=
ak, and she sometimes turns her head normal, but most of the time her neck =
is lopsided. Also, her back legs shake a lot (i guess, front as well), it d=
idn't just started. She always been a very small ferret, very shaky and a l=
ittle scary-cat. But since the leg problem a month ago, her hind legs a sha=
king more. What's wrong with her?

Thanks for your response,
Julie
