Having read a number of instances in which shelter people mention high rates of adrenal neoplasia I do find myself wondering if ferrets in shelters in general have higher rates than those in stable homes and if so which of possible contributing factors may be involved. It would be interesting to compare rate numbers in shelters with rate numbers in homes with many ferrets versus rates in homes with fewer ferrets. Of course, it may only reflect that there are those who decide they don't care anymore once an animal gets ill or scruffy, but if that isn't the major factor there may be hidden info in there... Hope I expressed that well enough; it's late and I'm tired.
