Hi Olivia,
I have a ferret the same age that's been on Pediapred for over a year and we
just raised his dosage from .5ml/ 2 x per day to .75ml / 2 x per day.
We use only the Pediapred (the children's version of pred)because it doesn't
have any sugar, alchol, or dyes. And it comes in liquid form. Very easy to
give. I pay about $24 per 120ml bottle at my local Wal-Mart.
Liz

> What is a high level of Prednisone? Smokey is 4-5 years old and was
diagnosied one month ago. He is on 1mg. twice daily. He seems to be fading
fast. Althought his eyes are still bright, he is sleeping most of the time.
Two of the lymph glands HAVE decreased in size but he also has run into
difficulity breathing. The vet described a medialstial mass that "leaks
fluid into his chest." The 1st time the chest was tapped, she got 40mls.
from the chest and 60mls. the 2nd time.. He will eat Duck Soup from a spoon
(about 5-10mls. every 2-3 hrs.).
> I'm heart broken and don't know what else I can do for him. If there is
nothing else, I know it will soon be time to release him from this terrible
disease. I only want to do what is best for my Smokey. Olivia
