Let me see if I have this straight... they're eating watered down TF ONLY now? That's certainly many times better that some of the other things you said they were eating, but not great for their teeth.

I don't know what water does to the nutritional quality of TF, but it seems to me that if the "soup" is made shortly before eating it, no harm is done to the food. Obviously, eating watered down TF is not going to give them the same AMOUNT of the essential items as eating a similar quantity of TF without the water.

I would try very gradually decreasing the amount of water used. Don't try to push it and remove a lot of water at once. Make it such a slight change they don't even notice and wait a few days or even a week before removing a TINY bit more water. Even if it requires removing just a microscopic bit of water at a time so they don't notice, so what. If it takes a number of months to achieve your goal, that's better than never.
