<<First what is Lupron?>>

The generic name is luprolide acetate. It is a synthetic GnRH analog for
human medicine.

<<Also why is adrenal not considered the same as Cushings?>>

Adrenal problems in ferrets cause them to produce excess estrogen, Cushing's
disease is the production of excess cortisol.

<<And why it is bilateral ferrets that have both glands removed don't go into
Addison's?>>

They very often do, if all of the gland tissue is removed. This is a major
risk of bilateral adrenectomy but can be treated with hormone supplements.

Hello everyone! First let me tell ya'll that ferret math has hit again!
Tonight I got a 7 week female chocolate kit. We named her Cocoa Pebbles. She is
only .86 pounds and still has a stitch from being spayed. She is a Marshall.
I have a few questions. First, she does not have her permanent big kid
teeth yet. They were feeding her moistened Marshall feed. I forgot to purchase
this because I don't think it is a good quality kibble. What should I feed her?
I feed Sheppard and Greene and a kitten food made by Nutro. I boiled some
water and let kibble soak for a few minutes then drained and smashed the moist
kibble. She didn't seem to interested though. She also had a rough day and
from what I figure a rough week and a half being weaned, spayed, taken from her
mother, shipped to a pet store, being in too small of a cage, being taken to a
kindergarten class this morning, and then me taking her home tonight. Should
I go get her the Marshall food inn the morning? When can she start eating
dry kibble? Do I need to feed FerretVite and how much and often? What about
Ferretone? Also what about FerretLax, Buster is shedding big time. She made the
adjustment into her new cage just fine and the boys like her. She is tough
too. Best of all, she just made herself at home and seems happy. She probably
knows she will be spoiled rotten LOL. Any other advice on a young kit would
be greatly appreciated too. Thank Ya'll so much for all the posts, I always
learn so much. Thanks also for the replies I know I will get in advance. I am
grateful for everyone on these sites!
