Let me preface this by saying that hair loss on the
tail -ONLY- usually does not mean adrenal.

Her age, OTOH, is no reason to discount adrenal
disease. Pertwee began showing adrenal symptoms at
age one, Ker Avon at one and a half. Both had
surgeries at one and a half years old. Avon had a
left adrenal tumor, an adenoma (sp?), while Pertwee
had first a left adrenal carcinoma and then a right,
all before age two.

Our vet has seen adrenal disease and removed adrenal
tumors from ferrets as young as nine months old.

All the best,
Caity
