I was wondering if the high protein in some of the ferret foods such as Natural Gold can cause an older ferret to go into kidney failure. I know of someone who has had 2 ferrets, both around 5 years old, go into kidney failure. One is recovering and one did not make it. The ferrets have been on a high protein diet since December.

Any thoughts?
