Subject: Strange Lumps - More Detailed Biopsy Info
Message-Id: <5.2.1.1.2.20040303163910.01b0fbe8@mail.purpledragon.org>
I picked up a copy of the biopsy results for the lumps on his back and
sides - here's what it says:
DIAGNOSIS
Skin Biopsies: Severe Diffuse Pyogranulomatous Cellulitis and Necrotizing
Dermatitis
COMMENT:
The biopsy sections are most consistent with an inflammatory disease
process that is pyogranulomatous inflammation. No specific microorganisms
are identified. We have recognized this particular type of inflammation in
young ferrets, primarily less than a year of age. This is typically a
progressive and serious disease condition. This lesion is suspected to be
a more systemic disease process in these ferrets.
There is also a large paragraph describing the tissue itself in more
detail, if anyone needs more info on that please let me know.
Once again, any info would be appreciated, I've never heard of this before.
Thanks
Meri
