Hi,

I had to sign up under a different name, for some reason I have not been able to sign in to smartgroups for the past few days.

Anyway....

OK, So I guess what I am getting here is that Lucy is Adrenal. Meaning she was adrenal at 1 year old. My question then is this. Do I send out for a Tennessee Panel? Will the results be conclusive? Do I just open her up? My main question is how to get fur back on her tail. It's so cold all the time, she can't be comfortable. Do I just have to wait for laparotomy? The other question I have is: is alopecia in ferts with Adrenal Disease always bilaterally symmetric?

Merlin had his right adrenal glad removed 8 months ago. He had no alopecia, but had other clinical signs (mounting anything in sight, itchiness, flaky thin skin, englarged prostate, excessivly grooming the other ferrets).

Thanks for the tip on Writing to Wysong for a sample. Yes, as far as I know there are two diets. 1 is a 99.9% meat diet, non thermal processing, 2 is fresh human grade chicken base. I have no idea what the difference is ;-)

Natasha
