Thanks to Dr. Murray, my vet ordered in someof the male mink melatonin impl=
ants and we inserted one in each of my four ferrets - Bogie has lymphoma an=
d is adrenal - can't have surgery, and Farley had surgery, but one of the a=
drenal tumors was inoperable (soft and metastatic - it was basically everyw=
here). Bailey was scheduled for adrenal surgery and Ferris had some slight =
thinning of the fur, but no firm diagnosis - yet. The two w/ inoperable tum=
ors were also on lupron and propecia w/o effect - more bald than fur. Their=
fur grew back everywhere but their tails (some, but not all). The other tw=
o have developed the most magnificent coats and tails I have ever seen (and=
I have seen a lot). Next week we will draw and send a Tennessee panel on t=
he one who was scheduled for surgery - to see if the effects were just cosm=
etic, or might actually reverse early adrenal hyperplasia ....
