I had a shelter kid in for surgery on thursday with not good results. The
tumors have encapsulated both kidneys and the liver and the vet (very ferret
experienced) did not want to remove the tumors based on the size of the growths
and veins. He will be going back to the vet for lupron - but I have a question:
Would cryo or laser surgery be able to do what convential surgery can not? He
is an otherwise healthy ferret, about 5 years old. I am willing to drive to a
vet that can perform such surgeries, if it is possible using these other
surgical techniques to extend his quality of life.
