Subject: Elbow popped out of it's socket....
Message-ID: <cd.6e9f4a6.2d7bfc39@aol.com>
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has some ideas for me. My 4 month old baby Ruby has
pulled her elbow out of the socket. I have no idea how this happened. None of
my others have ever done this. My vet put her under and popped it back in. He
had a hard time, it kept popping back out. He finally got it and x-rayed it
to be sure it was in place. He doesn't think a splint would work on a ferret
very well. Does anyone have an idea or an experience to share concerning this
issue. I am hoping to avoid surgery. I thought someone might have an idea for a
splint that works. Friday her elbow was popped back in and I am keeping her
confined to a one level cage until Monday. I am not letting her walk around on
it so hopefully it will heal. As far as I can tell it hasn't popped out again.
She is going stir crazy in her cage though. Not much fun for her, poor baby.
Thanks,
Kris
