Hi, everyone,

Just a quick note to let everyone who is following
Kodo's care know that the third round of clavamox
(fourth round of antibiotics all told) worked very
well indeed. While his spleen is still somewhat
enlarged the size is much reduced and his mobility is
pretty much back to normal and his activity level is
up. He looks much better, with a nice normal shape.

Our vet has left instructions that I can pick up
clavamox every five weeks without an appointment now,
although we will recheck Kodo's other issues next
week. We will continue the three weeks on, two weeks
off with the clavamox to keep his spleen size down for
as long as this regimen works. It does seem to be a
good plan for him.

Our vet now says he might just see 10 :)

I won't post about Kodo again unless something major
changes. I think the conclusion we can draw is that
in some cases clavamox is useful for reducing the size
of an enlarged spleen when the ferret is not a
surgical candidate and all other options are
exhausted.

All the bestm
Caity and the non-stop seven
