Patti,
Butter sounds like he may have a blockage. My ferret, Bubbles, nearly
died last summer from her duedenom being inflamed and thickened. She had so much
gas and was bloated and in extreme pain. The food wasn't leaving her stomach
and was getting worse with each feeding. I felt so bad but I had no idea what
was happening. Dr. Williams called me and told me that she most likely had a
blockage and recommended exploratory surgery which she did have later that day.
I would suggest running this past your vet. A sonogram may not pick up what
is going on with all that air in there. We tried gas drops also but it was only
a temporary relief, the gas came right back. I hope Butter gets better. (I
have a Butter also).
