We find that when we have such concerns we ALWAYS have a chest x-ray done.

They can sound FINE on examination but have pneumonia, pleuisy (even bad cases of both in the case of one of our's who sounded fine but had a bit of cough), or cardiomyopathy. Since all need to be treated, when we are in doubt about anything in the chest we have chest x-rays done, and sometimes have chest ultrasounds done.

Bets of luck to you. I hope it is a false alarm, but if not, knowing what is there will allow you to tackle it medically.
