We've had a stomach blockage in one which only showed up by messed up liver and pancreatic values (secondary from irriation). With him, though, we knew what was happening because he had a lartge and flaccid deformed stomach which could be counted on to periodically have build-up that blocked him.
It's not at all unsual for x-rays to not be helpful for blockages in ferrets, but when gas or distension or both occur we often think seriously about that possibility.
