I agree with the drop in the dose. I have also stopped the medication for
2-3 days then lower the dose. This is what is recommended for problems with
this medication. Are you using the liquid?
I think the liquid is worse with the appetite. 1 mg sounds pretty low it is
usu dosed at 5 to 10 mg/kg per day. And even if he weighed 1/2 kg
(500grams) that would be 2.5mg.
I have used cyprohepatadine which is an antihistamine and would try 1/8 of a
tab which is 1/2mg. It can bee made into a liquid for easier dosing. It is
given once per day and can be given with some food, and can sometimes show
improvement in 48 hours. Don't know of anything herbal at this time. I
would recommend stopping a couple days to see if the appetite improves then
restart with the lower dose. Talk to your vet about it.
