My ferret Thor (age 2 1/2), has been suffering from an increasing paralysis. currently he has no use or feeling from his midsection on down. he cant tell when he goes to the bathroom which is causing his underside to become raw and now he is developing sores. he's on amox. and my vet said to rub his belly with neosporin. my question is that this paralysis developed overnight, has gotten progressively worse and i cannot find a cause for it. i live in an area with limited vet knowledge and experience with ferrets so im frustrated to find a treatment for Thor. my current vet told me Thor has Cushings disease and will eventually die since the steroids he prescribed didnt help...but everything i read says that ferrets dont get cushings disease. anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
