I would be reluctant to use an anticoagulant since he just had surgery
because it could cause an inadvertant bleed, and you need to be sure he is
healed from that first before trying which is why I said to talk to your
vet. There are some options it is just timing that is tricky if this is
what is going on. be sure to get that x ray.
