Well the coughing progressed to very labored breathing, so back to the vet for the chest x-ray. She does indeed have congestion in both lungs, but the biggest surprise was a very enlarged heart. She must have had an undetected one before surgery and the stress of anesthesia has worsened it. Although, why it took a week and a half after surgery to show up is a puzzle. For the next few days she will be getting a steroid and antibiotics to try and lessen the congestion, if she survives that then we will deal with the heart. I guess I will have to reread all the posts on cardiomyopathy.

Thanks for everyone's help. If anyone has any other suggestions on dealing with her congestion/heart problems, please let me know. The vet gave her about a 50/50 chance. :(
