Deena,
I lost my first ferret from a blood clot after her second adrenal
surgery and that was my deciding factor in not going to surgery with another ferret
of mine. Baby is now 5 yrs old, she began showing signs of adrenal disease
almost 2 yrs ago and I started her on a 1 mg tablet of melatonin daily, crushed
and mixed with chicken baby food, this is given about 8 hrs after sunrise. Her
fur grew back, she regained her wieght and has more energy. So far this regime
has kept her symptoms from returning. If I didn't tell you she was adrenal
you would never guess it by looking at her.
