This may sound really stupid, but after reading all the posts in the FHL e-mails about all the special foods that owners feed their ferrets, I became concerned that my little fuzzball may be missing something in her diet.

We adopted Wheezy at age 5, and she is now over 8 years old. The people we adopted her from were feeding her a standard cat food (Kit 'N Kaboodle).....which is what we continued to feed her. She loves it, eats it very well, stools are normal and other than a solitary mast cell tumor (that spontaneously regressed), she is very healthy according to her vet. She is a small little girl, but not thin. Her fur is full, her nose cool and moist all the time, she is active and her eyes are bright. We tried Total Ferret once, and she would only eat a few bites and then no more. We do supplement her dry food with some canned chicken or beef cat food (most of which she steals from our cats' plate), and FerretTone and FerretVite. She gets a few raisins occasionally as a treat, and drinks plenty of water. We have tried chicken baby food, and she made the *yuck-face* and sneezed at it!

This cat food is 30% crude protein, 8% crude fat and 4.5% crude fiber. Since she is healthy, loves the food, and eats well, should I be concerned, or am I possibly worrying about something that is really NOT a problem?

And what is this *duck soup* and *chicken gravy* I keep reading about?

Thanks for any input on this question.
