I agree that at 8 yrs old, and seemingly doing well, trying to get her to change to a different food isn't worth the effort. But I will always remember a presentation at the Tufts Expo given by a noted ferret vet.
He said something to the effect that, when a geriatric sick ferret comes into the vet's office, alot of what you are seeing is due to a lifetime of chronic malnutrition.
This is why I get mad when I read the ingredient lists of the cheaper ferret foods out there. Especially those multi-colored "fruity flavored" types....
