I have been under the impression that ferrets should not be fed carbohydrates (that is to say, have carbohydrates included in the diet), especially insulinomic ferrets.. as the carbohydrates will stimulate the release of even more insulin and drop blood glucose levels lower.
Is this assumption correct? I perpetually encounter conflicting responses in this matter.
I have been inclined to believe this assumption, considering that ferrets are true carnivores by nature and their metabolism is not designed to properly digest carbohydrates.
