Once that stage has been reached we begin using mostly sucrose and frucose based sources. We've gotten as long as an extra 3 good months for one who was no longer handled by Diazoxide and Prednisolone, the latter of which was well over the what is normally given (because she tolerated it so very well). (BTW, notice that we used Prenisolone instead of Prednisone. Prednisone has an additional liver processing step and as a result is not as effective in some ferrets.) She might have gone on to have more than 3 months with this approach but a simultaneous fatal condition took her first.
