Dose is based on weight which you did not give so can't know exactly. The
dose she is getting is about right for the average ferret. Infections
depend on the type of bacteria and if she doesn't respond fully to this one
she will need a different one. If there is any resistence to the antibiotic
you could pick that up with a culture and sensitivity, but these are better
run when not on an antibiotic and this may not be possible with your little
girl. Yes there is some sugar in the clavamox for flavor but nit enough to
make a difference. It is okay to mix with food. It works better on an empty
stomach as far as absorption, but it can also be pretty hard on their
tummies and the stress won't help her either. Hope your baby responds soon.
I usu treat for 2 weeks at least, and you should see gradual improvement
the first week, just give it a bit more time and if concerned add another
antibiotic such as baytril. Is she on meds for the hypoglycemia
(insulinoma?)? Best to you and your little one.
