Basically a viral disease that can cause a variety
of symptoms, and is even found in healthy animals
that are carriers so testing is the only way to know
for sure if a ferret has had exposure or infection.
I think some great info on those sites, many are
in a way that is easy to understand.
Plus you can search the archives of the FHL as well.
