I agree with Sukie, I have a nine year old ferret who has undergone two operations
in the past 18 months and he is doing quite well. Of course you should have the lab
work done (which will probably cost as much as the surgery itself); it all depends on
how well she is doing healthwise (and you think she is doing pretty well), how much
are you willing to put in financially (which is a personal decision) and what is
ultimately best for the pet. Just know that these guys are really fighters, but they're
also individuals - my nine year old has done better with surgery than three and four
years olds I've had. best of luck!
