It sounds like your little one is in good heath, but yes, surgery at a later age is more
risky.
How advanced is the vet's technology? Things such as the vet's expertise,
ventilators, monitors, type of anesthesia, etc can aid in the chances at a succesful
surgery.
I have a friend that just had her 10 year old ferret undergo surgery for removal of a
tumor on his lung. The ended up doing a lung lobectomy on a 10 year old ferret!!
