Happy Easter to all that observe this holiday. The question I have pertains to a little boy that came in to my shelter in January. 4 days after arriving he started the diarhea and soon after he stopped eating. I employed all my tried and true tricks. Anti biotics, Childrens kaopectate, carafate, yogurt, prednisone. Lots of fluids and force feeding until he started eating on his own. He has been eating and drinking on his own for over a month now but we are still seeing diarhea. I do not mean intermitent. All the time. Fecals have turned up nothing. His stools were fine when he came in and again for a time in February. But for the last 6 weeks, it has been nothing but diarhea. Does anybody have any other suggestions. The only other thing that my vet suggested was to do an exploratory to see if there is something going on inside that she cannot detect on the outside. He has been on Batril, amoxicillan, metronidazol. Nothing helped. I am open to other suggestions before I try surgery.
