Pertwee had a nephrectomy (right kidney removed) at
age two. The surgery was necessary due to polycystic
disease. His left kidney was fine. He lived for
another three and a half happy, playful years. His
death had nothing to do with his remaining kidney.
NOTE: he did NOT have kidney cancer.
