Hello All,

I really need a little, maybe a lot, of help here. I have an 8 1/2 year old=
, adv positive spayed female ferret. She has been adv+ since May of '98. Sh=
e has been doing ok up until recently. She has taken to sticking her tongue=
out of the side of her mouth and chewing it. She has hardly any molars so =
I have been feeding her baby food/chicken gravy. The roof of her mouth is c=
oated white. Could this be thrush? It has a foul odor to it too. I know tha=
t she is old and her time is limited but I would like to keep her as comfor=
table as I can. She is my baby girl, I have had her since a kit. She has be=
en on pred for quite a while for insulinoma and she has started to lose her=
fur. She doesn't present with any other symptoms of adrenal. Her stools ha=
ve changed from well formed to a dark diarrhea and she seems to be losing h=
er control of her bowels. This only started since the baby food. =

I know that taking her to a vet would be the most appropriate thing to do, =
but it has me scared senseless. She has not had any shots since '99. To tak=
e her where there are a number of animals that could give her distemper, in=
my opinion, is not a good idea. We had a vet that would make house calls, =
but I can't seem to reach her. Yes, I have tried. Along with the distemper =
factor, I would hate to think that I would/could cause another ferret to be=
come infected. =

Does anyone have any ideas to help my Princess Tinker Dink? =
