Has your vet considered a Urethostomy? This is a reroute of the urethra that
will combat the problems of an enlarged prostate. In essence, the urethra is
moved from the prepuce to just in front of the anus. I have had 4 ferrets that
have had this surgery (1 for prepucial adenocarcinoma, 3 for adrenal related
issues as they came into the shelter) and it works very well with very little
side effects. It is something to consider.
