What should i expect in the future, concerning Alley's health? Do you think
this is just a one time
sickness that won't happen again or is this an indication of a more serious
underlying condition?

I have seen, twice over the years, a ferret present collapsed or close to
collapsed with anorexia, occaionally vomiting or diarrhea, no history of flu
exposure, and a low blood sugar. These ferrets responded to supportive care,
including antibiotics, and have done really, really well. By recheck, their blood
sugars were normal. Both were followed closely for insulinoma, neither
showed further signs. One of them died recently - since he was mine, I did a
post-mortem exam and found no sign of insulinoma.

Remember that any illness can cause the body to use up sugar - I suspect that
these ferrets had an infection somewhere that I could not locate which caused
the blood sugar to drop. Neither one had a similar episode occur after the
first. While I cannot say that this is what Alley did, that's been my
experience.

Certainly with a low blood sugar, insulinoma is top of our list. But an
overwhelming infection can cause it too. My advice would be to monitor her blood
sugar levels regularly.

I picked him up this afternoon.....he looks so pathetic....but now i am torn
on how i feel about his teeth being removed....he still is aggressively
biting(broke skin with his molars on me twice) atleast this time it does not hurt as
bad and cant do as much damage. The vet thinks that he might have some sort
of brain injury(ihave always suspected it). But still I am going to love
him(the shelter mom said that if i cant deal with the biting still that they would
take him back) till he crosses over. I am going to put ferritone on me so
that he learns to lick not bite me.
