My personal opinion is to do the surgery. While you are not seeing all the
signs, there are enough there to warrant surgery. I've said it for many years -
the severity (or lack) of symptoms have nothing to do with the severity of the
disease - only how well the ferrets' body is dealing with the increased
hormone levels. The one male that exhibited only the signs of aggression and
humping at 18 months of age turned out to be bilateral - and the right gland was
malignant.
