Hello everyone.

I'm hoping someone will help us find the answer.

Last Friday night, I brought a new kid home to my other 2 girls. I'm not s=
ure how old the newbie is, but I'd say just under a year. Well, Sunday mor=
ning at 3 am, one of my other girls started vomiting. She had diarrhea tha=
t was green and mucousy on Sunday. I started force feeding her, but it had=
gotten to the point where she had to be brought in to the vet on Monday fo=
r dehydration. The vet administered an injection of dex and reglan. We st=
arted her on sub-q's twice a day @ 25cc's. By noon on Tuesday, she could b=
arely breathe so she was rushed back in. And she had been gagging off and =
on the whole time. Now, this kid already has asthma and the whole time I w=
as thinking ECE. Anyhow, she was put on oxygen for half an hour, given 1cc=
's of dex, 2 bendadryl injections and a dose of reglan. Thankfully her lun=
gs cleared and the vet even admitted it was a close call. I was instructed=
to give her a bit of pred Tuesday night - which I did - and she willingly =
ate a bit of gravy off my finger. Wednesday morning she was almost back to=
her normal self. She was sub-q'd for the last time, had a good appetite a=
nd the gagging had stopped. Yesterday she was even better and ate some wat=
ermelon on her own along with her gravy. But - last night at about 11 the =
gagging started again. And again this morning. And this morning she'd har=
dly eat. A few licks of gravy off my finger, that's it.

My vet was thinking obstruction - hairball, etc. But both my girls are giv=
en daily doses of vaseline. Tuesday we took xrays and her abdomen was dist=
ended. Saw some sort of air pocket surrounding the lining. And her intest=
ines were clearly inflammed. Both were so inflammed that they were taking =
some room away in her lung area for her to get enough air.

My question - why has the gagging started again? She's been fine for more =
than 24 hours - what happened. Does this sound like ECE? Blockage? Any s=
uggestions? I'm calling my vet this morning, but I'm pretty sure they're g=
oing to be just as stumped. Please - anyone - suggestions. I'm at my wits=
end here and I don't want to lose my girl......

Thanks in advance for your help. I'll be forwarding any info I get from he=
re onto my vet. He's always open to suggestions, especially if he's stumpe=
d.
