Suzanne,
I'm not a vet but this happened to me last year when I brought a new kit into the
house. What mine turned out to be was helicobacter infection. The vet said stress
brings it on. My babies spleen got so enlarged from the infection that it had to be
removed. Also since his spleen was enlarged it was pushing on his stomach and he
also got a hairball thru all this and that had to be removed when they removed his
spleen. The gagging is a sign of upset stomach is what I was told and he was also
pawing at his mouth and vomitting. It has taken a long time for me to get him back
to semi-normal. hope this helps a little?
