I have a 4 y.o. neutered male who has put on quite a bit of weight in the last 2 months. He's always been a big boy as he was a late neuter, but to me he's gone beyond the bounds of good taste!

I'm going to schedule him for a vet visit, just to get a check-up, (although he was given an A+ in Jan.) but I was wondering what it could possibly be. Could it be adrenal? I thought ferrets usually lose body mass with that. We just lost a ferret in Jan. with severe ascites/edema so I know it's not that. Could it still be a cardio issue?

Has anyone had success with putting a ferret on a diet? Not sure I want to go that route but he will definitely be more comfortable with less weight!

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!
Amy
