The only time I saw this was when a young male had a retained testicle,
and the vet opened him up to try to find it. There was significant
bleeding, and the vet had to close the ferret without finding the
second testicle. The bandage was to help slow the bleeding, not protect
the stitches.

Check with your vet. Sounds like it may be doing more harm than good
for Bob.
